As we are getting into the swing the new school year, we are developing many favorites throughout the day.  While playing in the sandbox at recess or nature walks for science time would seem to be obvious choices, it was fun to learn that my preschooler’s favorite thing about school is LUNCH!  This Creamy Avocado Turkey Wrap has become a recent lunch time favorite.  It is easy to make, packed with protein, and just plain delicious! 

What I love about this Creamy Avocado Turkey Wrap is that is so simple and fresh tasting.  The avocado and Greek yogurt spread is mixed with some garlic, which serves as the perfect base for the rest of the wrap.  I also load it up with salad greens or spinach and add some carrots for a little sweetness and sometimes add whatever other vegetables we have on hand.  Next add some Slow Roasted Turkey Breast by Hillshire Farm Naturals™.  Add optional cheese or hot sauce, wrap it up and you’re good to go!

Creamy Avocado Turkey Wrap
 
Yields: 4 servings
Ingredients
  • 1 avocado
  • ½ cup nonfat Greek yogurt
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 4 tortillas (any flavor or variety)
  • 1 package Hillshire Farms Naturals™ Slow Roasted Turkey Breast
  • fresh baby spinach (or mixed salad greens)
  • shredded carrots
  • Optional: hot sauce, shredded cheese, any other vegetables
Instructions
  1. In a small bowl, mash avocado, yogurt and garlic. (If desired, add any other herbs and spices to this mixture)
  2. Divide mixture evenly among tortillas.
  3. Top avocado mixture with turkey, spinach and carrots. Add any other vegetables or cheese at this step.
  4. Wrap up each tortilla, slice them in half and serve!
