Fire up the grill for this easy recipe for Grilled Honey Lime Chicken! A simple combination of honey, lime, soy sauce and garlic results in a tangy-sweet, delicious and healthy meal. {gluten free, dairy free}
Grilled Honey Lime Chicken is fresh and light with a delightful balance of honey, lime, soy sauce and garlic. This is one of our favorite meals for the summer because it is easy, healthy and everybody loves it! The marinade takes minutes to mix together, then just pour it over the chicken in a zip-top bag and pop it in the refrigerator until it is time to grill. As with any citrus marinade, the marinade acts quickly so the chicken can be grilled within 15 minutes thought I have also let the chicken marinate overnight for a great make ahead option.
We often serve Grilled Honey Lime Chicken with fresh grilled corn or potatoes, a green salad and watermelon for dessert. For a perfect wine pairing with Grilled Honey Lime Chicken, I suggest a glass of Gallo’s Sweet White Blend wine. It enhances the subtle sweetness of the honey while complementing the stronger garlic and soy sauce flavors. This wine is sweet, bright and fruity, with delicious peach and tropical fruit flavors throughout.
- ¼ cup low-sodium soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons lime juice
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, lime juice, honey, oil and garlic.
- Put chicken a zip-top bag and pour marinade in the bag, making sure the chicken gets coated. Refrigerate for at least 15 minutes to overnight. [Note: the longer the chicken marinates, the more flavorful it will be)
- Preheat grill to medium heat. Spray the grates with grill cooking spray (or rub with oil), if needed.
- Put chicken on grill and discard the bag with marinade. Cook for 3 to 5 minutes per side, or until chicken is cooked thoroughly.
