I have come to discover that the simplest recipes often become my most requested recipes. Who would guess that after spending hours in the kitchen cooking an elaborate something or other, everybody ends up raving about the simple dressing on the garden salad that was whipped together in seconds. This Red Wine Vinaigrette recipe transforms any basic garden salad into a company worthy salad that always has people asking for the recipe!
This Red Wine Vinaigrette takes literally seconds to make using pantry ingredients. Simply combine olive oil, red wine vinegar, garlic, mustard and paprika. Black pepper can be added to taste, if desired. The combination is zesty, flavorful and very versatile.
For this recipe, I used Pompeian’s Organic Red Wine Vinegar, which is made with organic grapes harvested at the peak of maturity in order for the red wine vinegar to maintain the complex flavor characteristics of the grapes. - ¼ cup extra virgin olive oil
- 2 tablespoons red wine vinegar
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- ¼ teaspoon Dijon mustard
- ¼ teaspoon paprika
- Black pepper, to taste
- In a jar (or other airtight container) add olive oil, vinegar, garlic, mustard, paprika and pepper (if using), shake well to combine and serve. Store in refrigerator.
